In mexicano you are paired with a new teammate in each round. However, you are not guaranteed to team up with every player and you are not guaranteed to play against every player. In mexicano the teams are based on the leaderboard, so that number 1 and 4 are paired against number 2 and 3. Number 5 and 8 are paired against 6 and 7, and so on. The first round is random.
